well, I thought it was realistic. The whole trilogy was about choice and sacrifice, so what happened in the end was not completely uncalled for. And there IS an ending (at the VERY end) where Shepard survives, but you only see the N7 armour and then you hear him/her take a breath, and it cuts. I felt that the rest of the game was stellar, but I was dissapointed that the choices you made in Mass Effect 1 and 2 did not carry into the third e.g. if any characters from ME2 die, they have 'replacements' in the third game that basically play thier roles. It would have been nice if we really felt the effects of the descisions that were made. Other than that, I'm just sad that its over ;_;
ME3 was my first Mass Effect game so maybe if I had played the others first and in order I would feel different. It would have the feeling of the long term sacrifice. But since it was my first I didn't get that whole feeling.
It kind of remind me like in Infamous 2. Although I hate that Cole had to die, it made since for the story with the sacrifice he did to save the people.
Yeah that would completely change how you experienced the game! I wish you had played it in order
I never tried Infamous 2, but sacrifice in stories, as long as it rings true, is always worth it. It only bugs me when a character sacrifices themselves for no good reason, e.g. 'there's no time! I have to fly the ship into the black hole so the shockwave of the explosions won't kill everyone' and then the hero dies, meanwhile why couldn't he put the ship on autopilot? Sacrifices like that bother me. When the sacrifice was the ONLY way to do something, and it saves a lot of people, then yeah its really sad and it sucks, but their death meant a lot more than their living ever would have in that context. lol sorry for the rant XD

I feel the same, and YES OMG I can't tell you enough how much that bothers me,
"save yourselves"
"arn't you going with us?"
"no i have to stay and look heroic"
